That's justified in a way because it helps hide the identity of the killers, but sometimes I'm irritated by it. <br />Blatty seems to think describing a sadistic murder without showing it is a form of taking the high road. <br />I don't always agree. You can show something really fast and then cut away, but having a character describe the wounds in great detail actually draws it out. <br />I think it fits when the killer does it because he's bragging, but I don't like when Lieutenant Kinderman does it.
